cPanel Webmail Guide and Comparison

cPanel gives you the ability to not only create email accounts, but you can actually do all of your email activities right inside cPanel or through your browser using your domain and /webmail.

There are three main webmail options that you have to choose from: SquirrelMail, Roundcube and Horde. The one you should choose depends on what you need from your email and the features you want to have available.

Which webmail should you use?

Basically, SquirrelMail is the most basic one, Roundcube is a step up with more features and Horde offers everything you’d probably ever need for email. Here’s a breakdown of some of the features, or lack of, for each one…

 

SquirrelMail

Best if you don’t need a ton of features and just simply want to send/receive email

The full-blown email option with the most features

  • A way to keep notes
  • Task manager
