Cloud Portal 1-Click Install Application Templates

Server configurations are not for the hosting rookie. That’s for sure. Fortunately for those of us who aren’t necessarily technical wizards, hosting providers like Hostwinds have simplified and streamlined that process by which clients can configure their servers. To further that point, Hostwinds has gone so far as to provide clients with a user-friendly interface, the Cloud Portal. This cloud control panel enables clients to configure their server in just one click.

That’s right, as a Hostwinds client, you can install a number of popular applications onto your existing cloud server or VPS with just one click. This blog post is intended to provide you with some rudimentary information about each 1-click application template available in the Hostwinds Cloud Portal.

Note: We will also offer a brief tutorial about how to install a 1-click application template onto your server in the Cloud Portal. Please feel welcome to skip down to the concluding paragraphs if you are only here for that tutorial.

Let’s go!

What is the Hostwinds Cloud Portal?

Hostwinds’ Cloud Portal is a profoundly user-friendly server control panel with an intuitive interface and tools that enable you to carry out complex hosting procedures quite easily. Onto another important question:

What is a 1-Click Install Template Application?

A 1-click install template application is much like what its name suggests – an application that you can install onto your Hostwinds cloud server or VPS in just one click.

There are applications of all kinds in the Cloud Portal, so it may be worth taking a look at what each entails. We’ll do that now.

Available 1-Click Application Templates in the Cloud Portal

As a precursor to this mini synopsis of each 1-click install application template, one of our support team agents has some thoughts to share.

Alex W’s Thoughts On Why to Take Full Advantage of Cloud Portal 1-Click Installs: “The 1-Click Installs simplify the installation process which can be tedious with Linux servers, thus making it a breeze to start up a server and hit the ground running.”

Beginning in order from left to right, a short description of the Cloud Portal’s 1-click install application templates:

WordPress is the most popular CMS (Content Management System) out there today. In other words, “WordPress has dominated the user-friendly website-building realm since it was first introduced in 2003. Why, you ask? Possibly because this content management system makes it immensely easy to build and manage a website without knowing how to code.”

LAMP Stack

Coincidentally, we’ve got another blog post archive that nailed this definition: “LAMP Stack is a sturdy and well-known web stack that has been around for quite a long time. It is relatively simple to employ because all four technologies, L (Linux), A (Apache), M (MariaDB), and P (PHP), work together well and complement one another nicely. Each of these elements falls under the FOSS category.”

By the way, ‘FOSS’ is short for ‘Free and Open-Source Software.’

Joomla

Joomla is a customizable and helpful CMS (content management system) similar to WordPress.

If you haven’t played Minecraft yet, you’ve got to check it out. It is fun! You *Mine materials so you can *Craft your very own universe in any way you’d like.

To say that in a different way, “Minecraft is aptly named Minecraft because in order to create, or craft, your world, you must first mine the dirt. The game is really great in that it is fun for both kids and adults to play!”
