Here is a step-by-step tutorial about how to install a 1-click application template onto your VPS or cloud server:
1. Visit www.Hostwinds.com and click the ‘Client Login’ link on the black navigation bar at the top of the page
2. Login to your Client Area using your Hostwinds email and password
3. Click the ‘Cloud Control’ drop-down menu at on the royal blue navigation bar towards the top of the page >> Click ‘Cloud Portal’
4. Click on your server nickname under the ‘NAME’ column
Important: Kyle D from our support team has some very important advice for anyone looking to install a 1-click install application template onto their server: “We recommend that you take a backup before you reinstall your server because all the data will be wiped from the server.”
5. Click on the blue ‘Actions’ button >> Click ‘Reinstall’
6. Click the ‘Applications’ tab >> Click on your preferred application
7. Click the green ‘Confirm’ button at the bottom of the pop-up window
8. Don’t panic when you see a pop-up message stating that your server has been successfully terminated! You will receive a notice shortly after that says ‘Create Instance Succeeded’
9. Once your server has repopulated on the ‘My Servers’ page, click on your server nickname again
10. Click ‘Confirm’
Note: Depending on what application you are installing, it can take up to 30 or 40 minutes for the installation process to complete. You can login through SSH if you would like to check the status of the installation. A message will appear there saying that the application is being installed if that is still the case.
