Whew! We have so many interesting things to write about that we had to take a brief hiatus from interviewing our Rockstar Staff, but now we are back! This week we talked to one of our newer members, Kyle M.! Kyle is an integral part of our Front Line Team, helping all our spectacular clients find a path to success. Kyle is an avid tabletop gamer, and so enthusiastic about life, his good mood is contagious, the office has been a brighter place since he came on board. I sat down with Kyle and asked him a few questions:
Quirky Questions & Kyle Kindness
Paige: How Long have you worked for Hostwinds?
Kyle: 93 days (at the time of the interview), and I love it!
Paige: How many dice do you have with you today?
Kyle: (laughs and thinks) A couple dozen or so I think.
Paige: What do you like most about your job?
Kyle: Being able to assist people with accomplishing tasks, and goals. Being able to teach them why, in a way that makes sense to them. Some people want things to just be fixed, but other times, people want to know why. It is a really good feeling having someone walk away from a conversation with you, knowing more than they did when they came into it. You know the old adage, “teach a man to fish..” and all that.
Paige: You’re stranded on a desert island, and you can only listen to one record for the rest of forever, which record would you choose?
Kyle: Oooh that is a really hard question. If I could only choose one I would pick North Texas Wind Symphony: Sojourns. It is a neoclassical modern opus, full of really cool instrumentals, really good series of songs. It has fantastic highs and lows, and as soon as you think you know where it is headed, it changes direction, leaving it always, somehow, miraculously, unexpected.
Paige: What is the nicest comment you have received from a client?
Kyle: “I was hesitant at first when I found out I had to pay $35.00 a month. But for the help I have received from you, I would happily pay $35.00 an hour!”
Paige: What is the best piece of advice you could offer to new Hostwinds Clients?
Kyle: Do some research before purchasing, to make sure that what you are buying is what you need. Please come into chat and ask every question you can think of before making your final purchase so that we can help you to make sure that what you are purchasing is the right thing for you.
Paige: If you had one hour of uninterrupted conversation with any person, dead or alive, famous or otherwise, who would it be with and why?
Kyle: Nikola Tesla! A lot of his work is undocumented. I would love to discuss the things he worked on before he was forced into competition with Edison. I truly think he would have benefited so greatly, from a gifted and patient secretary.
Paige: What Add-on service do you think adds the most value to a VPS service?
Kyle: Cloud Back-ups! Done nightly! Hands down! It is giving yourself the ability to rewind a full 24 hours worth of potential mistakes. If anything were ever to happen you could recover everything with little to no thought.
Paige: Marvel or DC? Who is your favorite Character?
Kyle: Marvel, I guess. Marvel has more of the characters that I appreciate. In terms of my favorite character, I would have to say, Dr. Strange. He is a master of logic and cunning, and even though he has an astonishing amount of power, he also has restraint in equal measures, which is a quality lacking in most superheroes.
Paige: What piece of sage advice would you give to a new Front Line Agent on their first day?
Kyle: Don’t take things personally. There is never a reason you can’t shed a positive light on a negative situation. At the end of the day, we are here to help, only. If your first and only goal is to help, you can’t really go wrong!
