Newness and possibility are palpable in the air today, as it is the first of a promising new year. First thing's first: HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am bouncing off the walls with excitement today because Hostwinds has so much in store for our clients in the next twelve months. Speaking of, our team hopes 2019 has been treating you well so far! With all the updates and improvements coming up, there is an excellent opportunity for every member of the Hostwinds Family and Community, INCLUDING YOU, to evolve, prosper, and profit. As a Happy New Year's gift to you, the Hostwinds Team would like to give you a little sneak peek of what 2019 has in store for our endearing community.
2018 flew by, and the Hostwinds Family worked hard to improve our clients' web hosting experiences in every capacity. For example, our crew of Front-Line experts created over 400 new Hostwinds Knowledge Base guides to help our clients accomplish web hosting tasks, navigate through various portions of the Cloud Portal and their Client Area, enhance their websites, and much much more. In 2019, we will continue to boost the number of guides we produce because our team is coming up with new ideas to aid our clients round the clock.
More 2018 successes and updates: The Hostwinds Team built our Cloud Portal in-house from the ground up and added all sorts of new features to it last year. Said features include load balancers, improved backups, volume management, improved object storage, and Cloud DNS (Domain Name System), to name a few. Furthermore, as we carefully observed our clients' needs and necessities, we altered our Cloud Portal to allow such clients to build servers from a snapshot backup template and added…hmmm what is the technical term for this…oh, I know!… OODLES AND OODLES of application templates and ISOs to our Cloud Portal. We also decided to add auto SSL to all our shared web hosting packages.
One of the most remarkable developments in 2018 regarding Hostwinds' services is this: The Hostwinds Family is conscious that we have an immensely loyal and excellent client base. We want to do the right thing and make things easier for them. Our founder, Peter Holden, built Hostwinds because he noticed the web hosting industry needed a company that put clients' needs first. Thus, our team continues to follow Peter's example by constantly reflecting on how we can adjust to provide the best for our clients without costing them an arm and a leg. We genuinely don't think "Profit, Profit, Profit" every day. Instead, we think, "What is the right thing to do? What is the right thing to do? What is the right thing to do?" Our priority is maintaining a balanced and healthy relationship with our clients. What's that? That was an incredibly lengthy preface to the "cool development in 2018," and you are on the edge of your seat in anticipation waiting for me to finally disclose such development? *Scanning paragraph…Scanning paragraph…Scanning paragraph*…yes, you are correct. I'll get right to it then! One of the most extraordinary developments in 2018 was Hostwinds doubling the resources we offer for each of our plans and reducing the prices of several plans. It. Was. Glorious.
Happy surprises are one of the best parts of life, in my personal opinion so that we won't give too much away here…but we can tell you the following:
Our clients have sent us a lot of feedback about expanding our locations, particularly in the EU. We take suggestions and feedback seriously, and we are exploring the best way to fulfill our clients' needs in that sense. Oops… I've said (or wrote, instead) too much already…but get excited for the possibility of new Hostwinds locations this year.
On that same note, we are already growing and strengthening our Front-Line support team to ensure our clients receive hands down the best support in the web hosting industry. Moreover, our Director of Front-Line Operations will continue to expand and fortify our Front-Line training in 2019.
In addition, the brilliant Hostwinds Design Team will be building up our website to make it even more user-friendly (I know what you're thinking: "How is it even possible to make an intensely user-friendly website like that of Hostwinds even more user-friendly?" Oh, it's possible, my friend. The Hostwinds Design Team makes the impossible possible). Our crew is also perfecting our Cloud Portal in 2019 as we focus on the potential new features that can benefit our clients. We develop new features specifically for our clients and, if we add more tools and stuff to the Cloud Portal, we will make sure they are top-notch.
