Hewlett-Packard exhibited their newest offering at AMD's Developer Summit 2013 in San Jose, California, on Monday, November 11th, according to a recent article posted on Eweek.com. The manufacturer demonstrated their newest module – a low-power, ultradense Moonshot server powered by AMD Opteron chips. According to the report, the product is to be officially launched next year and will target the accelerating remote desktop industry.

During the demonstration, Hewlett-Packard's Chief Technology Officer Gary Campbell briefly addressed the audience, according to the report, saying, "_a remote desktop environment run atop AMD-powered Moonshot systems will be more cost-effective and energy-efficient than a traditional virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployment._"

According to the article, Campbell was quoted to say, "_HP Moonshot servers are about a tenth of the cost of traditional rack servers, and also use about a tenth of the power, cooling, and space of the rack systems._" The report continues to note that the growing demand for powerful and efficient servers from Web-based businesses may look to Hewlett-Packard's Moonshot as their supplier.
