Fetch cPanel Email Using Gmail

Hostwinds suggest to Fetch your email in Gmail as opposed to setting up an email forwarder in cPanel to prevent your domain from being rate limited, blocked or very slow when checking email. This can happen if you receive SPAM and forward this to another email service provider as forwarding SPAM counts as sending SPAM

 

Fetch cPanel Email in Gmail

First: On your computer, sign in to the Gmail account you want to import to.

Second: In the top right, click Settings and then Settings.

Third: Click the Accounts and Import or Accounts tab.

Fourth: In the “Check mail from other accounts” section, click Add a mail account.

Fifth: Type the email address of the other account, then click Next Step.

Sixth: Choose your email retrieval method (Gmailify or POP3), then click Next

Gmailify is a newer method of multiple inbox management Google has implemented to allow you to manage multiple emails from a single Gmail inbox. You can find more details about Gmailify here.

Gmailify can only be used with one other email account. If you already have an email account setup with Gmailify, you will have to unlink it from Gmail first.

 

Seventh: Enter your password.

Eighth: Recommended: Check the boxes next to the options below:

  1. “Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail”
  2. “Label incoming messages”
  3. Leave the other boxes unchecked.

The above screenshot is the settings available for POP3 setup. The settings for Gmailify may differ slightly.

 

Eighth: Click Add Account.
