Step Four: After you select the Billing cycle and other features, just click the Create Instance button at the bottom of the page to Create your New Instance using the WordPress Application Template

How do I access WordPress?

Your WordPress login details to your server and your WordPress admin area for your server’s hostname will be provided to you via your welcome email sent to your registered email on file with us. Your WordPress admin username will be the same password as your server’s root password.

Wordpress Shared Hosting is similar, if not the same, to our standard shared hosting options with WordPress installed manually as outlined here.  Pricing is the same, the only difference is the convenience of having WordPress for your domain automatically installed upon purchase.

Brand New WordPress Website

If this is your first WordPress website, there are only two things you need to do to get started:

  1. Point your domain’s A record to your server (this would be the dedicated IP provided in your welcome email)
  2. Then login to your WP-Admin control panel (provided in your welcome email)

Once your “A” record or nameserver is edited, propagation will begin.  Propagation can take up-to 24-48 hours to complete and further review can be read here.

Existing WordPress Website

If you already have an existing WordPress website and you want to migrate your website to Hostwinds, you may submit a support ticket requesting the transfer if your service is fully Managed.

If your service is Unmanaged or you’d like to perform the migration yourself, follow the steps outlined here in our WordPress site to WordPress Application Template guide.
