What are My Operating System Options?

When it comes to our Web Shared, Business, Reseller, and White Label reseller hosting packages, the only option we provide is Linux web hosting environments on a LAMP stack framework (Linux server, Apache webserver or equivalent, MySQL or equivalent, and PHP development).

Our Web Shared, Reseller, and White Label reseller web hosting are all on Apache servers, on CentOS 7 operating systems. Our Business web hosting is on CloudLinux operation system with the LiteSpeed webserver. All of these hosting services use the latest versions of MySQL or MariaDB, and PHP.

At this time, Hostwinds does not offer a shared hosting environment for Windows, .NET, Sharepoint, Nginx LEMP stack, or Node.js (with MongoDB) environments. All of these options will require a VPS server solution.

Regarding our server solutions, we offer a wide variety of operating systems for both virtual private and dedicated servers. Listed below on this page are all of our current options available for both Windows and Linux servers.

If you do not see the Operating System of your preference, or you have a custom operating system solution (dedicated only), please contact us and we’ll be happy to advise or assist.
