Creating Hostwinds Products
To resell Hostwinds products and services within your White Label Reseller account, you will need to create these products within your admin area.
To do so, you will need to have set your API details and ensuring the connection is correct for the Hostwinds Reseller addon module.
The products and services are broken down into two sections, “Shared Hosting Services” and “Hostwinds Other Services”
Shared Hosting Services: This consists of the 3 tiers of shared hosting that White Label can resell, being Basic, Advanced, and Ultimate tiered packages.
Hostwinds Other Services: This section consists of everything else that is able to be resold by White Label Resellers including Cloud Instances (both HDD and SSD), Managed and Unmanaged VPSes and Licenses.
How to Create Product Groups
Hostwinds Reseller addon module has the ability to easily create product groups from within the interface.
Product groups are used for a grouping of similar products. These can consist of anything you wish to use them for.
General use case for product groups would be a separate group for:
- Shared hosting
- Unmanaged HDD Cloud Servers
- Unmanaged SSD Cloud Servers
- Managed HDD Cloud Servers
- Managed SSD Cloud Servers
To create a group, you will first click on the “Create Products” button for the type of product you’re wishing to create a group for. In this example below, we will use the Shared Hosting Services selection.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will locate a selection that appears as the following:
To create a new group, press the + button, this will open a popup that appears as follows:
Create a name for the product group. This will be used and seen only by administrators in your WHMCS admin area. In this example, this is for shared hosting and the naming we will use in this example will be Shared Hosting. Following this you may add an optional description for the group. Once finished, press Create Group.
Now that a group has been created, you can select it from the drop-down list for the products that you are creating. This will create your products within the group you have selected once you’ve finished configuring the products and press Create Products.
How To Create Products
Creating products within your WHMCS admin area is extremely simple and only requires 3 steps:
- Selecting the products to create
- Configuring the pricing markup for the base price of the product and configurable option price
- Choosing the Product Group for the Products

Once again, the products and services are broken down into two sections, “Shared Hosting Services” and “Hostwinds Other Services”.

Hostwinds Other Services: This section consists of everything else that is able to be resold by White Label Resellers such as Cloud Instances (both HDD and SSD), Managed and Uunmanaged VPSes and Licenses.
Once you have clicked on Create Products you will be taken to the next screen, which will look similar to this –
From here, the checkbox on the far left of the product listing. When this box is checked there will be a product that you will create in the product group you select.
The product will have a description included with it, that displays a short description of the product and what it offers.
Configuring Price Markups
The Price Markup is a markup percentage of the cost you pay for the service. By default, the cost markup is set to 100%, which is equal to the pricing you would pay for the service on your Hostwinds’ account.
Anything lower than 100%, would be less than your price, meaning you would not make a profit if sold at a value of under 100%.
Anything higher than 100%, will be profit you make on each service of that type sold, so if a product’s base price is $5, with a 100% markup value selected, you would pay $5 for the service, and so would your client.
If you select 125% for a product with a base price of $5, your client would pay $6.25 (25% increase over $5), you would pay $5 for the product, and your net profit would be $1.25.
You can have different markups for different products, and these can be adjusted at any time.
Whenever a new value is entered into the price markup field, the field under “Your Profit” will display what your profit would be for that product, for each of the billing cycles.
You can do the same for “Config Option Markup“. This is for the configurable options for the product itself, such as additional IP addresses, C-Class IP addresses, Operating System fees (Windows only) ,etc.
Selecting the Product Groups for Newly Configured Products
Once you have finalized selecting the products for the group you are wishing to have created and have configured the pricing markups, you can now select the group in which these products/services will be added to.
In the above example we had created a group labeled Shared Hosting. This is where we will create the 3 levels of Shared Hosting available to be resold by White Label Resellers.
Ensure that all products that you are wishing to create are checked with the checkbox on the far left of the product, and that any/all markups have been set for each service/product being created, and navigate to the bottom of the screen.
Select from the dropdown, the group you are wishing to add the products to, or press the + button to create a new product group to add the products to.
Once all of the above has been completed, press the button Create Products.
The screen will display a loading message of “Please wait…” and once it has completed the creation process you will receive a message at the top of the screen in a green text letting you know that the products have been created.
