The Hostwinds Affiliate Program gives approved affiliates the opportunity to earn commissions by referring customers to eligible Hostwinds hosting-related services.
This FAQ covers common questions about the program. Your participation is governed by the current Hostwinds Affiliate Program Agreement. If anything in this FAQ differs from the Agreement, the Agreement will apply.
When are my commissions released?
Eligible commissions become available after Hostwinds successfully receives the qualifying payment and the required 60-day holding period has passed.
Once you have at least $100 in approved and mature commissions, you can request a payout.
What is a mature commission?
A mature commission is a commission that has completed the required 60-day holding period and has been approved for payout.
For a commission to mature, the qualifying payment must have been successfully received by Hostwinds, and the related service must remain active and in good standing during the holding period. The commission must also remain free of refunds, chargebacks, payment disputes, reversals, fraud, or other activity that would make it ineligible under the Affiliate Program Agreement.
For monthly services, each eligible payment is subject to its own 60-day holding period.
For yearly or longer-term services, commission on the qualifying initial payment may mature after that payment clears and completes the 60-day holding period. Affiliates do not need to wait until the full yearly service term ends.
What are the standard payouts?
Affiliates can earn a 10% recurring commission on qualifying payments for eligible new purchases of Hostwinds hosting-related services made through a valid affiliate referral.
This includes qualifying new hosting-related purchases made by both new and existing Hostwinds customers.
I don't have a tax ID. What can I do?
If you are a U.S. citizen, you can use your Social Security Number (SSN) or apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN).
To apply for an EIN, visit the IRS website, select Apply for an EIN near the bottom of the page, and follow the instructions.
If you are not a U.S. citizen and do not have a tax ID, enter 000000000 in the tax ID field.
I don't have a website!
That is okay. You can provide the website, social media page, platform, or other promotional channel where you plan to advertise Hostwinds.
All promotional methods must follow the Hostwinds Affiliate Program Agreement.
How long does the tracking cookie last?
Our tracking cookie lasts for 60 days.
Please note that tracking alone does not guarantee a commission. The referred purchase must be properly tracked, meet the Program requirements, and complete the required holding period before it becomes eligible for payout.
How do I get paid?
Once you have at least $100 in approved and mature commissions, you can request a payout through the method available in your affiliate account.
Available payment options and any information needed to process your payout will be provided during the payout process.
What Products and Services Are Eligible for Commission?
Commissions apply only to eligible hosting-related services purchased through a valid affiliate referral.
Eligible hosting-related services may include qualifying purchases of:
Eligible hosting-related services may include managed or unmanaged hosting services when designated as commissionable under the Program.
Unless Hostwinds expressly states otherwise in writing, commissions do not apply to non-hosting products or separate charges such as:
- Domain registrations, transfers, or renewals
- Software licenses
- Standalone SSL certificates
- Standalone add-ons or third-party licenses
- Professional services, migrations, consulting, or support fees
- Account credits, promotional credits, refunds, or billing adjustments
- Custom quotes, special pricing arrangements, or non-standard transactions
Hostwinds may determine which plans, services, transactions, and payment types are eligible for commission.
When do I get paid?
Affiliate payments are processed on the 1st and 15th of each month.
You must have at least $100 in approved and mature commissions and submit a payout request before payment can be processed.
A request submitted after processing has begun may be included in the next scheduled payout cycle.
